…a feel reliable movie, with a bit of a worship myth to it. Last Holiday is a shining comedy that will leave you thinking about life. Latifah is pretty and also very humorous. Two thumbs intention up!

Queen Latifah stars in this endearing movie that forces the audience to inquire of their beget lives. Queen is told that she only has a few weeks to live, and she finds out that she has to learn a hard lesson about living life instead of waiting for the perfect time for things to happen. While this movie does force the viewer to believe about life, there are some very amusing moments. LL Chilly J was surprisingly helpful in this film, and the rest of the supporting cast was fantastic.

First, let’s bag something straight: Belle de Jour was shot 35 years ago in France. It’s unbiased not ever going to gawk as shapely, intriguing, and saturated as a newer movie. Director Martin Scorsese (who spearheaded its re-release) is a purist; he would not want to artificially “enhance” the recount at the risk of distorting Luis Bunuel’s current vision.

Second, this DVD is non-anamorphic for very superb reason: Belle de Jour was photographed in 1.66:1 widescreen. 16:9 enhancement would actually have Reduce OFF some of the record at the top and bottom. People who complain about the quality of this DVD simply don’t know what they’re talking about.

As for the movie itself, Belle de Jour is one of the few films about eroticism that really gets it legal – it knows that eroticism is in the mind, not the body. The always vivid Catherine Deneuve plays Severine – a woman whose life is at once picture-perfect and fundamentally empty. She is married to a profitable provider, the ravishing but dull Pierre (Jean Sorel), and enjoys all the inactive upper-middle class accouterments.

But something is inappropriate in this greeting-card perfect world. Severine seems to rep erotic satisfaction only in the repressed desire to be humilated and musty sexually. She escapes into waking dreams where she enjoys being whipped, soiled with mud, and streak to trees. This lurid fantasy life leads her to notice employment as a part-time prostitute – but only during the day, before her husband gets home.

Complications arise when her double life is discovered by her husband’s friend Henri Husson (Michel Piccoli), and when she finds herself the subject of a stalker – a dangerously obsessed customer named Marcel (Pierre Clementi), who also happens to be a violence-prone thief.

Though it sounds like fodder for a typical Hollywood “erotic thriller”, what develops from these elements is a psychological seek that, for all its depths, appears to remain moot about honest what makes the main character tick.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Belle de Jour! Click Here

Central to the film is Deneuve’s work. Under Luis Bunuel’s true, disciplined direction, she delivers a performance that is wintry, opaque, and ultimately heartbeaking. Yes, she seems distant, and that is precisely the point: the considerable talked-about ending, by its very ambiguity, shocks us with the revelation that we’ve been fooled all along. Severine is not unreadable because she is hiding dismal motivations. Rather, she is a dreamy, empty vessel; abused as a child (as we leer in subtle flashbacks), and acting out of nothing more than instincts she can neither hope, nor care to understand. The lights are on and nobody’s home.

Her last, jubilant smile as she enters one of the waking dream-states that pervade the film masks the hollowness of a human being squeezed dry of all her humanity by a life of denial, guilt, and empty materialism.

It’s an emotional sucker punch – a romantic banality that underscores with bitter irony what a dim, empty life Severine has, and the large injure that has been done to her. The substantial afflict that her maintain actions have caused by this point is unbiased a tragic ricochet.

All in all, Belle de Jour is a haunting fraction of classic cinema. It may be Bunuel’s masterpiece. It belongs in any serious movie fan’s collection.

“Belle de Jour” is generally considered to be director Luis Bunuel’s masterpiece; a surprisingly revealing and seemingly personal venture into the world of eroticism and its deviances. It’s a truly surrealistic exhaust in ambiguity, fantasy, and reality. The line that separates them is blurred so grand that the famously mysterious ending has had critics arguing for decades over its meaning.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Belle de Jour! Click Here

The fantasy sequences are usually signalled by the sound of carriage bells, but by the waste of the film the viewer is no longer able to differentiate between what is another one of Severine’s fantasies and what is reality. Even Bunuel admitted to not radiant himself. He said that “by the kill, the staunch and imaginary fuse; for me they get the same thing.”

The magnificent Catherine Deneuve, glorious in her frosty prime, portrays Severine Sevigny, the middle-class wife of Pierre, a doctor. She is wintry, virginal, yet seemingly gay enough in her bourgeoisie life and its trappings. However, upon hearing about a local clandestine brothel from a friend, she pays a visit to the madame, and becomes a prostitute, going by the name of “Belle de Jour”, as she can only work in the afternoons. She apparently fully realizes and enjoys her sexuality, despite her guilty conscience, exclaiming that she “can’t assist it”. She certainly doesn’t need the money. She’s bored with her life and her marriage, needing a “firm hand” to lead her; a need which the madame, Anais, who is obviously attracted to her, almost immediately recognizes. Her sweet and primitive husband is unaware, treating her considerable like a child, and the audience cannot aid but enjoy that even if he knew of her just nature, he would not understand or empathize. She keeps her two worlds neatly separate until a patron of hers (whom she herself enjoys) becomes obsessed with her, and all is threatened.

That Alfred Hithcock in particular admired this film comes as no surprise to me; Deneuve would have been the perfect Hitchcock heroine: an cold blonde who becomes “a whore in the bedroom”, as Hitchock was fond of saying he preferred in his leading ladies. But this snarl is not meant to simplfy the sage, its telling, or Deneuve’s worthy performance, which is what truly draws the viewer into the film.

“Belle de Jour” was Bunuel’s first foray into the exhaust of color, and he employed it to expansive achieve. From the descend colors displayed in the landscape scenes, to the subtle shades in Deneuve’s clothing, the contrasts are status. While the world around her explodes in magnificent hues, Deneuve’s character is defined by her couture, if staid, wardrobe of tan, dusky, and white.

“Belle de Jour” was unreleased for many years due to copyright problems, but finally re-released in 1995 through the efforts of director Martin Scorcese, and released on DVD in 2003. I’ve watched it twice in the past week and am composed at a loss to picture it very well; suffice to say that I am in panic. It’s an amazingly erotic film without any explicitness, and one that I request hasn’t lost any of its carry out over the years. As the subject matter is handled very tactfully and without any precise sex scenes; a big deal is left to the viewer’s imagination – which only serves the heighten the mysteries inherent at every turn in the film. The viewer is however drawn into the sense of feeling to be a voyeur into Severine’s secret life; the careful choreography of scenes and camera angles contribute to the glum sense of intrusion by us, the viewers.

There are many sub-stories and itsy-bitsy mysteries in the film; for instance one of the most widely debated upon by critics is the mystery of “what is in the Asian client’s cramped box? ” that he presents first to one prostitute, who snappily refuses, then to Severine, who tentatively agrees. All the audience know is that it’s something with a insect-like noise, and when the client leaves, Severine is sprawled face-down upon the bed, the sheets thrown about, and obviously elated with whatever took situation in the interim.

“Belle de Jour” was awarded the Golden Lion at the 1967 Venice Film Festival, as well as the award for Best Foreign Film in 1968 from the Current York Film Critics Circle.

Interesting side notes: Bunuel himself had a shoe fetish, which helps define the numerous shots of Deneuve’s beautifully clad feet throughout the film, and the fact that every time she goes shopping, she buys shoes. He also appears in the film in a cameo as a cafe patron, and in another scene his hands are shown loading a gun.

“Buster Keaton Rides Again/The Railrodder” is here on DVD! After watching the VHS version for several years, the improvement in record and sound quality of the DVD is striking! Colors are colorful, narrate is crystal definite, and the music sounds 100 times better than on the video version. This compilation is a must-have for good Keaton fans. “The Railrodder” is a short mute film (with music) which shows an aging Keaton doing what he did best. One of the last films he made (he died a year and a half after it was filmed) it is also an homage to the beauty of Southern Canada.

But the staunch gem of this collection is “Buster Keaton Rides Again,” a b&w documentary of the making of “The Railrodder.” It is a rare contemplate at Keaton being himself, something that was usually kept from the public inspect. We observe how he worked, relaxed, and what made him smile. There is touching and endearing footage of him interacting with his wife Eleanor and a priceless scene of him singing and playing ukulele. Additionally, there is a short biography interwoven throughout, with some resplendent vintage photos and footage of Buster’s early days. Highest recommendations!

Really pretty double-bill, featuring some of Buster’s final appearances. The Railrodder comes up sumptuously in DVD colour, with many sound and vision details I have never noticed before. Almost better is the 55-min documentary about the making of the film: a amazing, all-too brief perceive of Buster and Eleanor at work and play; very candid, comic – it moved me to tears at times. I cherish Buster so noteworthy, as an artist and as a human being. There’s a exquisite moment when a bunch of Canadian children talk protest to camera, beside themselves with excitement at the prospect of visiting their hero in his private carriage. Unforgettable.

I received The Riches Season 2 yesterday and I marathoned all 7 episodes. The packaging has changed to a regular dvd case with 2 double sided discs?!?! The first season dwelling included 4 episodes to a disc so I’m not clear what the double sided nonsense is about. Prepare to be angry/gutted/disappointed when the seven episodes are over, I know I was! Long live The Ri¢hes!!

Great actors, immense scripts, immense tv….makes sense it got cancelled! Personally I am quite exasperated this was canned, The Riches was quick becoming one of the best shows on tv. I was indignant to leer where the record with Eamon Quinn was going as Wayne (or Doug) had yet to have any sincere challenge intellectually (Dale wasn’t to hard to control was he) . I will personally give Eddie Izzard money to compose a movie!

We need a conclusion.

Still one of the best shows I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. Hopefully some other network will acquire it up and continue to design it!

I saw this film at a Toronto Int’l Film Festival industry screening and idea it was one of best documentaries I have EVER seen! I’ve read a couple of reviews that have called it the definitive film of the subject of abortion – I completely agree. I’ve never seen anything so complex, complete and emotionally wrenching as this account work. It stayed with me long after the screening. In fact, it’s been a couple of years since I’ve seen LAKE OF FIRE and it continues to haunt my thoughts. I weeped at the ruin. My only criticisms are it’s length (far too long) and it’s employ of music, which often bordered on excessive and manipulative. But, those are relatively shrimp concerns when weighed against the film’s many positives.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Lake of Fire! Click Here

I Like documentaries and have seen nearly every major work produced in the past 20 to 30 years (as well as not so major films) . “Lake of Fire” may well be my approved – I’m tranquil deciding if any of the other films I’ve loved delivered the same unrelenting, yet profoundly emotional punch to the gut that this one did. This is the best film no one has ever seen! What a pity!!!!

“Lake of Fire” is an in-depth witness at the Abortion vow. No matter which side you happen to belong, Tony Kaye gives both sides equal time. There are interviews of people off the street, as well as comments from Writers, Attorneys, Doctors, and Patients on the subject. There is no story, and Tony Kaye was wise to let these people sing for themselves.

There were many issues raised within the subject of Abortion, on both sides, that invent one go HMMMMMM. There IS graphic footage contained in this film, so wait until the kids have gone to bed, to pop this film in the DVD player.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Lake of Fire! Click Here

The most surprising thing is that the woman who is at the heart of the landmark Roe V Wade decision, is now in total opposition to the Law she was instrumental in creating. The subject of Abortion clinic bombings and the assassinations of physicians who work in Abortion clinics is not only touched upon, but the blurring of the Law vs. Morality argument is a case in point of how divided we are, when the factual to life suppose is raised. We peer in the film, tapes of the bombers/shooters making their case to the police while in custody. I may be a bit biased, but the Pro-Lifers looked a minute crazy to me. It’s hard to peep someone’s point of conception when Religion makes it’s arrangement into a conversation about this subject.

Whether you are Pro-Life, or Pro-Choice, this film is an education in what defines us as human beings. Does life open at birth, or the Zygote stage of developement? How do we determine the teach? I don’t gain it really can be. I occupy in the moral to decide, to have control over one’s body, financial security and education. There are many women today, who would have been marginalized, and possibly welfare mothers, were it not for Roe V Wade.

Women, as well as Men, owe it to themselves to gawk this film. There is no better film out there, that is this comprehensive. You will be changed after seeing it.

This review refers to the Warner Bros DVD release of “Rebel Without a Cause”……

After nearly 50 years from it’s release in 1955, this is a film that unexcited truley embodies the feelings of teenage angst. The three teens that this sage revolves around are played powerfully by James Dean, Natalie Wood and Sal Mineo. It’s not fair about how the kids deal with the problems that life hands them but about the parents as well.

Jim Stark(Dean) is the newcomer to the neighborhood. The family is always tantalizing around seemingly due to Jim’s inability to halt out of disaster. The parents(Jim Backus/Ann Doran) may be at the core of Jim’s problems. There’s a substantial scene at the police residence, where the parents are arguing(as usual) over what’s upright for the boy and Jim sums up the whole event by crying out, as only James Dean could do..”You’re tearing me apart”.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Rebel Without a Cause! Click Here

Judy(Wood),very chilly and fragment of ‘The in-crowd” comes from what seems to be a typical middle-class family, but underneath there are problems galore. At 16, Judy longs for the affection her father(William Hopper) gave her as a petite girl, but he seems to be confused by her impending womanhood and pushes her away both emotionally and phyically. Judy does whatever she can to derive her father’s attention.

Perhaps the most deeply apprehensive of all is John “Plato” Crawford(Mineo) who comes from a well off family but they are never around to care for him or about him. He is cared for by his well meaning housekeeper/nurse played brillantly by Marietta Canty.

Trouble once again finds Jim on his very first day of school, which erupts in a knife fight that is so beautifully acted and directed it takes on the seek of an exquiste dance, and ends with a tragic car hurry. The parents seem to be of no serve in the dilemna. Jim, Judy and Plato accept each other in their loneliness and earn a makeshift family of their gain, that also is beset with some devastating results.

Buy,Download, Or Stream Rebel Without a Cause! Click Here

Beautifully directed by Nicholas Ray(Johnny Gutiar/The Flying Leathernecks), watching this film again was like finding a buried appreciate in a time capsule. It is a fable, that will always have meaning as although the times(and types of problems) may change, people really don’t.These young brillant actors had an on camouflage chemistry and charisma that is unsurpassed. I also want to create mention of Edward Platt, who played the empathetic Juvenile Officer, Corey Allen as “Buzz”(Dean’s rival), and also behold for Dennis Hopper in an early role as one of “The kids”.

Warner Brothers has done a valid transfer of this 48 year worn film. It has been restored, looks note modern, and is presented in the unique widescreen. The sound was also terrific in the remastered Dolby Digital 5.1. There are some advantageous special features to gawk. Unhurried the scene documentaries which were actually filmed around the time of the making of “Rebel” enables us to leer interviews with the stars. There is one with James Dean not only talking about the film, but advising young people to “Drive Safely”! You will also spy the mask tests and learn where that toy monkey came from in the opening scene.

If it’s a film you already know you like, you will appreciate the DVD. If you haven’t seen it, whether you are a teen or an adult, you will be moved by this legend and it’s a must have for your classic DVD collection.

Thanks and like…..Laurie

Released soon after James Dean’s death, in the same year in which East of Eden also appeared, this film immediately attracted and rewarded huge interest and has continued to do so. Piece of its appeal is explained by the fact that Dean died instantaneously in a violent car wreck, Natalie Wood drowned, Sal Mineo was stabbed to death, and Cleave Adams overdosed on prescription drugs. Their premature deaths enrich even more the poignancy of their roles as teenage rebels “without a cause.” Actually, mighty of their behavior is explained by their unhappiness in their dysfunctional families. Jim Stark (Dean) feels smothered by his parents who depart from one town to another, hoping that he will finally “derive himself.” Judy (Wood) desperately needs adore from a father (William Hopper) who is unwilling and/or unable to provide it. Plato (Mineo) seems to have no contact whatsoever with his parents. Meanwhile, Judy eagerly agrees to be gang leader Buzz Gunderson’s “trophy girlfriend.” After his death, she shifts her attention to Jim. They and Plato briefly become a “family of three,” in one scene in an abandoned mansion even pretending (albeit satirically) to be father, mother, and son. (FYI, the plot in which this scene was shot is alleged to have appeared earlier in Sunset Boulevard as Norma Desmond’s mansion.) All of the film’s action occurs within a 24-hour time period, beginning in a police dwelling and ending with police also eager because….

Nicholas Ray directed Rebel Without a Cause and also co-authored the script. Working with an exceptionally talented cast, he succeeded so well with evoking immense performances from that cast that Dean, Wood, and Mineo have since become icons for teenage malaise. They brood, they pout, they withdraw, they drawl, they whimper, while feeling totally misunderstood by adults. They especially resent their parents’ inability to “rep it” even without gleaming what that “it” is.

I saw this film again recently, again impressed by the quality of the acting but, probably inevitably, worthy of the film now seems dated to me even as it retains powerful of its innocence. Some scenes remain quite gleaming, such as when Judy stands proudly out in the field, bathed in automobile headlights, before “officially” starting the “Chickie Bustle” contest; also when Jim urges his Mitty-like father (Jim Backus) to stand up to his (Mr. Stark’s) badger-like wife (Rochelle Hudson) . It is probably not realistic to question young people in relatively comfortable circumstances to have a “cause” except to be popular, respected, and loved on their enjoy terms. This is a “classic” of sorts. When seeing it now, I have the feeling that I have opened a time capsule from 1955 and the film is among the items contained in it.

Finally, my collection is complete, but this particular disk is not up to the quality of the other seven in the space. Originally conceived as a series with eight “chapters” of five episodes each, production problems led to having to accomplish four “clip shows” to instruct the promised 40 episodes. (The actors recorded dialog for two episodes that were never tantalizing.) These clip shows fill from 60-90% “recycled” material, but the 10-40% that’s current ties the clips together into exquisite stories.

When packaging the series, the five daily episodes for each week were combined into a single feature-length disk, with only one intro and exit that had combined production credits for all of the episodes on the disk (sometimes 2-3 different Directors, for example.) The first six disks faithfully prefer the first six weeks. The last week (”Homefront Campaign”) contains the last five production episodes, but there is a missing episode (#31) that precedes the first one on the disk, and the tale ends with a cliff-hanger (#37) because they never completed the last few episodes. (Another review provides a very honorable chronology for viewing the disks.)

What we score on “Trackers” is the missing episode and the four clip-shows, but the DVD layout is confusing … it appears to have one “feature” and four “extras” … these are, in fact, the missing Episode 31 and the clip-shows that were delivered instead of 33, 38, 39 and 40. All five episodes hold their novel intros and exits. (Treasure that music! :-) Unfortunately, unlike the other seven disks, there are no audio commentaries or production featurettes.

If, like me, you started collecting these DVDs as they were released in order to have the Complete Series, then you *MUST* have this disk. Because each episode is only about 22 minutes long, with the complete intro music and ending credits, they are a expedient arrangement to introduce friends to the series without forcing them to sit through an hour and a half in one sitting to discover all five episodes from a single week.

If, OTOH, you objective have fond memories of the demonstrate and would like to have a “sampler”, then this is a very top-notch choice as your first engage, as the four clip shows beget some really tall action sequences. The down-side is that several of those scenes are repeated in more than one of the episodes, and the plan they are ordered on the disk, you’ll spy a flashback approach the extinguish of one episode repeated come the begining of the episode that follows it.

I don’t feel cheated by the duplication … there are keen stories wrapped around these clips from other episodes, sometimes appearing as flashbacks (when Ricco is marrooned in site, or Razack is being court-martialed), others as material that Higgins is trying to cobble together into a broacast for FedNet. It also looks like they may have included some scenes that ended up on the cutting room floor as script changes were made during production of the current episodes.

In the commentaries on the other disks, they talk about the production problems that led to having to train the clip shows, but it would have been nice to hear them telling the stories of how they went about putting them together, as I bear at least one of them was actually a “preview”, containing clips from episodes that were tranquil in production and had not yet been aired.

So, don’t be fooled that this is fair a 20 diminutive “feature” with four “extra featurettes” … these are 5 episodes that should have had an entirely different menu for navigating them. They did a Very Dreadful job of packaging this disk, but at least we’ve got all 40 episodes to delight in and part. I’m thankful to have them in any condition!

The newest SmartLipo MPX Technology : The newest SmartLipo MPX technology at SKINTASTIC uses two wavelengths of energy rather than one, with better control of total energy delivered for boosted safety, and improved thermal and photomechanical effects. These added options give the doctor much larger control of the quantity of energy brought to different densities of body fat, which could lead to faster, more effective lipolysis ( fat liquefying ) and skin tightening, with even less downtime and recovery. The MPX system at SKINTASTIC will shortly also utilise ThermaViewTM technology, a thermal camera viewer that may warn the SKINTASTIC surgical team when the maximum treatment temperature has been reached in a certain body area, for more treatment safety.

At SKINTASTICTM : The FDA-approved SmartlipoTM MPX Laser Body SculptingSM System is the most complicated Smart Lipo laser technology currently available. In addition, SKINTASTIC will shortly be the 1st center in the U.S. To have the new SmartSenseTM with ThermaGudeTM handpiece, a smart delivery system which regulates the energy delivered for the most accurate results. The prior version of SmartLipo was dependent entirely on the surgical staff's capability to trace where they have just treated ( by watching the laser thru the skin ), so the new system is a quantum leap ahead technologicially, getting shot of any guesswork. With the latest Smart LipoTM MPX, the SmartSenseTM with ThermaGuideTM handpiece and capability to see their results straight away on the ThermaviewTM view-screen, Dr. Adelglass and the surgical team at SKINTASTIC may be able to focus more about the dexterity than the application. Rapid Trial – The state is required to bring your case to trial within 180 days. Our computerized system calculates the rapid trial date and leverages all techniques to get the case past the fast Trial so the case is discharged.

improper Statute or Charging Instrument – the proper statute must be written so the officer proves the correct elements for a conviction. The facts must satisfy the parts of the statute for a proper conviction. Moreover, you must be properly gave advice of the charges against you so that a defense may be prepared.

For some tickets the officer is required to write the words to wit” with a rationalization of how you violated the statute. Without such specificity a case might be dismissed for absence of specificity to prepare a defense.

Invalid Radar Calibration – radar logs must indicate explicit dates of calibration and testing. These logs should be checked at the trial date. If the officer does not bring the radar log, the case might be dismissed.

Invalid Pace Calibration – similar to the radar calibration, the pace clock must be calibrated too. This should also be checked at the trial date. If the officer doesn't bring explanation of the calibration, the case might be discharged. there are plenty of more techniques and defenses which our attorney's employ with great success at the Ticket solicitor Jacksonville.
